This question came up in one of my interviews and honestly, I majored in it to convince them of my passion for advanced science and technology. I enjoyed answering it 😄 I graduated from Nigeria 🇳🇬 in 2017 but didn’t start my MSc in Germany 🇩🇪 until October 2020. The panel asked about the gap… and I was ready. I told them: • I completed my one-year national service 🇳🇬 • I was determined to do science at a higher level—with access to state-of-the-art research and instrumentation 🔬 • Coming from a humble background, I couldn’t afford international education, so I aggressively pursued scholarships 💪 • I faced multiple rejections… until Germany finally gave me that opportunity 🎓✨ By the time I finished, you could see it in their faces—it wasn’t just a “gap” anymore, it was a story of persistence, clarity, and ambition. And truthfully? I knew I wanted more. After a first class, I didn’t want to settle—I wanted to experience science, not just study it 🚀 After that interview… I knew I’ll be getting that job in the most critical companies in the world 🌍

My UK 🇬🇧 Landlord called me over the weekend to say she wanted to come over for us to sign some fresh paper works 🤓🤓 Omo… my heart skipped. I told my Oga straight up, “this One landlord is coming I hope she’s not going to increase rent oo😫😫 Cause even if it’s by £50 I’m not paying I’ll just tell her I want to pack“😏😏 Long story short, she just came to make us aware of the new laws and renters right that will be in place from May 1st.🤩🤩 Apparently here’s what is changing in a couple of days, if you are renting in the UK 🇬🇧 1. no more fixed contract, (6 months or 1yr contracts dissolved) and you can leave a house with just 2 months notice 🤓🤩 2. no more sudden rent increase 🏡💸The law states that they can only increase rent once a year (this one sweet me ehnnnn😂😂) meaning landlords can’t use hikes in rent to indirectly chase u out 🤌 3. ”no fault’s eviction ” has ended ❌… Meaning, your landlord can’t just give u quit notice, they need to prove a specific legal fault u have first in the court before telling you to leave and they must give 4months notice 🥸🤓 4. no bidding wars 🤓🤓🤓 - when I was house hunting, there are some houses I loved and wanted to pay for but someone else offered high price and landlord gave to the highest bidder. That has now ended. Landlords must agree and put a fixed price before advertising a house for rent 🤩🤩🥳 5. no more advance on rent…💸🧾💰 Upfront payments has been abolished so that people who don’t have savings can rent and pay as they earn😜🤓 6. landlords cannot discriminate anymore . They must not refuse to rent because you have pets, children or you’re on benefits- (this is huge 🫶🏻😸) Lastly, 7. decent home standards: landlords are legally required to fix damps, molds, and safety hazards, if you notice any of these just send your landlord email straight and if they don’t respond you can report to your council 😺😹😸🤭 I just said ” did you come all these way just to tell me I now have more rights in your property?“🫣 She just laughed over it and said “legally, yes“. Then I said, On that last note, well there’s some molds behind the wall in one of the rooms, I just noticed it and still researching on the best way to handle it ” She said where?! And I showed her. That’s how landlord switched into full fixing mode, she went outside and grabbed this bucket, filled it with some liquid and legit started washing off the mold 🫠🫠 After washing she sprayed it and painted the wall herself and did other small small fixes here and there.🤓🤓🤓 In my mind I was like, ”this can never be naija Landlord o“😛😝 Code Scholar’s

So. If you are in ANY emergency situation — let’s say you park in your driveway, & only as you begin taking your groceries from the car, you see movement in your home that is supposed to be empty. And a broken window. You cannot drive away to somewhere safer to get help. Your car refuses. You are at a traffic light. Suddenly someone is trying to get into your car (this has happened to me). You have a split second to accelerate & leave him in the dust. Your car shuts down power. The school calls. Your daughter has fainted. You cannot drive to the school to pick her up because your car notices your eyes are wide & you’re breathing fast. Your car now controls whether you live or die in an emergency situation. And those controls cannot be overridden.

I realized I had missed my period for that month but didn’t feel anything strange. We went to the hospital afterwards and this doctor told us I wasn’t pregnant, I had “HEMATOMETRA”. I started my tears right from the hospital entrance till we got home. The more my husband tried to console me, the more I cried. I was just saying “so I won’t be able to give birth”. He told me we would try two more hospitals the next day, I got calm a bit The next day, we went to the first hospital and the doctor confirmed it was pregnancy, we showed him the previous result and he said there must have been some mixed ups. We went to another hospital right after and it was also confirmed I was actually pregnant. We were very happy and my husband said he wanted to go and cause tr0uble at the hospital that gave us n%nsense result, I told him there was no need, we already got our good news. Since then, whenever we passed in front of the hospital, my husband look at the hospital and say “Hematometra hospital, they want to k!ll my wife for me, you will not see patients” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

When I got to this part.. " Oga oo, I didn't even eat from it." He just went out…. WE FELT BAD when he came back carrying bags of yam, that day I realized that he doesn't even eat much from what he worked hard for. Yet he did not stop buying” So after ‘feeling bad and realizing’, the whole house didn’t even deem it fit to vex and even get the yam and cook for him(even if it’d be just that one time) ? The only realization was that he doesn’t eat and it didn’t stop him from buying ? That’s all he got ? Then the circle continues ? Man no see life come fr.

On her way to Iyana Paja to deliver goods, she stopped at the toll gate to drop a package when a bike man accused her of a ₦3k fake transfer and started harassing her, shouting and accusing her of theft. The new scam in Lagos now is that someone you’ve never met before will walk up to you and accuse you of sending them a fake transfer. If you don’t stand your ground, they will collect all your valuables and leave you stranded. Don’t fall for it!

Police stopped one keke I entered. They asked the driver for papers, he didn’t have complete. They said everybody should come down. We all came down. They started searching everybody one by one. When they got to me, they saw my ID and phone, nothing else. One officer now asked, ‘wetin you dey do?’ I told him. He said, ‘you no get anything for us?’ I said no, I don't have anything. He now told me to wait. After like 10 minutes, they allowed the keke driver go after settling them. Then one officer came to meet me and said, ‘you fit go.’ I said okay and started leaving. He now called me back and said, ‘you no even appreciate us.’ Appreciate you for what again? After making the keke leave me behind and wasting my time?
