@SimonMagus The whole “I’ve paid in” thing is ridiculous. You’d need a pot of 200-300k for current state pension. Most people aren’t close to paying that much in over a working life. If what people paid in was invested then maybe but given the government don’t do that it comes nowhere near.

I've still got best part of two years to go before I get the state pension. The debate around pensions remains one where people like me talk about *paying in* and how we have *earned it* while demanding this entitlement grows faster than the economy.

@v_j_freeman I don’t know whether he ever believed what he was saying about growth but there’s not a chance he could easily get that past the bulk of his party. He’s not a strong enough leader to do that and I don’t think he tried.

Claiming the country is “ungovernable” while ignoring Starmer’s key policy failure - to have completely failed to have even attempted to make growth his “no.1 priority” after having faithfully promised he would to the electorate - isn’t journalism

@AndiDurrant 2012 has a lot of great tracks that I really like but it’s still 1997 for me. I was 18 that year and going to clubs a lot so the memories from around that period are just too hard to beat!

@McFranchisee @McDonalds Sound a bit like the Big Arch over here although I think that’s a different sauce. For me I’d go double quarter but swap the sauces for bbq. Filet o fish is my least favourite thing but that’s for the same reasoning as yours.
