Recently, @CharlotteDOT opened a new section of the Uptown CycleLink adding to the miles-long bike lane connector. The project runs along College Street from Good Samaritan Way to MLK Boulevard, then continues down MLK Boulevard to Davidson Street. Cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers will see all the visual cues from the bollards to the green road paint. Take less than a minute to hear what it's like to use these lanes. 🚲

@JHolmesLives The Schwinns is the 70s were bike store bikes, not department store. Until Schwinn's bankruptcy and buyout by Doral in the 90s, they were respectable quality bikes.

@TarHeelFoodways That's not an unjustified fear. I've found greenway rides are best mid-morning during the week, if you have that kind of schedule flexibility.

@leadZELFR The problem I have with greenways is that once I’m going a certain speed, I feel like I don’t trust what people (or dogs or children) are gonna do when I pass them. Probably a skill issue on my part though

People who bike for exercise: where do you go? Like, I feel like 30-40 min on a bike gets you 5-7 miles easy. That’s like…most of the way across the city. How do you go that far, maintain a pace, and not get chewed up by traffic? Are you just driving to the sticks all the time?

@JHolmesLives West Charlotte is one of the best areas to ride in. North isn't terrible, I just don't have as much time up there. I bike the west side several days a week. It's all about route planning.

@CLTBikeCommuter @Derailluer @danoplan Open Streets is literally called out as a "performance measure" on page 58 of the most recent (6yo) Charlotte Bike Plan. Sounds like something the city supports and leads?
