If confirmation bias exists, it does so as a legitimate enterprise only. I challenge anyone to put their confirmation bias aside and be open to that possibility. Anyone who calls out another's confirmation bias is intellectually lazy and holding to a self-defeating position.

This is ostensibly called a “medical technology,” yet in substance it is a “modern variation of eugenic thought” that negates existence itself. To position Down syndrome as a condition that should be socially corrected already entails a eugenic logic that determines who is permitted and who is excluded. In modern society, an implicit consensus has quietly but steadily taken hold that those deemed undesirable to society may be eliminated in advance.

By chance? Unlikely, let alone creatures capable of asking the question.

Bill C-22 (Lawful Access) allows the government to build a system that makes it easier to access your telecom data, your phone, internet, and other digital activity, by requiring networks to be ready for that access. The problem is how that system is being built. It is being shaped by government ministers, behind closed doors, and without full parliamentary scrutiny. Ministers will set the rules for how your data is collected, retained, and accessed — through regulation, not through open debate in Parliament. Bill C-22 is not just about access to your data. It is about control over the system that makes that access possible.

I am more than willing to forgive for what happened to our family for two years starting in March 2020, on one condition. And the ball has been in their court for four years.

@mapleblooded BTW, I have never requested a pay increase from any employer and never left any due to dissatisfaction with remuneration. They have all been fair. But the cost of living is getting out of hand. Especially when housing adult kids who can't afford their own place.

@mapleblooded My wife and I bought our first house in 2000 with a combined wage of $14/h. After 2 years she put me through 2 years school and we went to 1 income of $13.50/hr coinciding w/ 1st of 5 kids. Never went hungry for next 22 years but feeling pinch now so wife is back at work.

What a silly take. I didn’t vote for Stephen Harper in 2006 when I had the opportunity. But in 2007 I was able to buy my first house with only my income at 26 years old. After 11 years of Liberal rule that is now impossible for young people. I don’t think kids have it better now.

New Access to Information Request Reveals Hundreds of Canadians Died After COVID-19 Vaccination, Majority Within Two Days or Less From Severe Reactions. A newly released file under the Access to Information Act provides a detailed breakdown of reports submitted to Canada’s national vaccine safety surveillance system involving deaths that occurred following COVID-19 vaccination. The 50-page release from the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) contains individual level entries drawn from the Canadian Adverse Events Following Immunization Surveillance System (CAEFISS), covering reports recorded between March 1, 2020, and February 12, 2026. CAEFISS operates as a federal, provincial, and territorial collaboration, combining both passive and active surveillance. Healthcare providers, public health authorities, and, in some cases, patients family members contribute reports. The records list 314 cases in which an adverse event following immunization (AEFI) was reported with an outcome of death. Each entry includes the vaccine administered, reported symptoms, and the time between vaccination and onset of symptoms. It is important to note that fewer than 10 percent of vaccine-related adverse events are reported to health authorities, meaning that tens of thousands of cases were likely never documented. In addition, it has become widely known that many doctors feared reprisal if they reported vaccine injuries, which would further distort the true numbers. The vaccines referenced in the access to information file include those manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTech (Comirnaty), Moderna (Spikevax), AstraZeneca (Vaxzevria), and others authorized during the pandemic. Reported symptoms vary widely and include cardiac events such as myocardial infarction and cardiac arrest, neurological events such as stroke and seizures, and other conditions including respiratory failure, thrombosis, and multi-organ complications. According to the file, time to onset of reaction ranged from less than a day to several weeks or, in some cases, was listed as unknown.
