I will never support rebels in my life. I have witnessed what they did to Somalia, Libya, and Yemen, and now to Sudan and Syria. What Assad did to his country is not the main issue. While Assad's regime was a single group without internal conflicts, the rebels who have taken over power consist of many factions that lack the unity needed to effectively lead Syria. Syrians, along with anyone who supports rebels taking office through violence, will be responsible for the future of Syria. I hope Syria does not become like Sudan, Libya, Yemen, or Somalia.

I am building a list of countries who are staunchly against Somaliland gaining recognition. So far I've got: Europe: Italy - for obvious reasons doesn't want to annoy it's past colony of Somalia Italia. Africa Egypt - Like the idea of using Somalia as a counterbalance to it's arch rival Ethiopia for the Nile. Djibouti - Sees Somaliland as a strategic rival for military bases and becoming a logistics Hubs Uganda - Making a fortune off of peacekeeping and the state building process of Somalia in its current state. Musaveni clarified his stance recently on Somaliland. Asia China - Is in competition with the west for the Horn of Africa region and also hates Somalilands diplomatic relations with Taiwan Qatar - Somaliland took the UAE and Saudi side in their conflict and has close ties to Former president Faramajo.
