At the DC 37 Leadership Summit our learning continues!

At the retirement party of President Carmen Charles of Local 420 of @DC37nyc. She served the local for 25 years at the same time served DC 37 as Vice President. Her remarkable dedication in labor movement will always be remembered. We wish her a success retirement! @ASAAL08

People across the world kicked off May Day with large marches and protests as many workers grapple with rising energy costs and shrinking purchasing power tied to the Iran war. Also known as International Workers’ Day or Labor Day, the holiday highlights the struggles and achievements of workers worldwide. Thousands are taking to the streets from Asia to Europe and beyond calling for stronger labor protections, higher wages and greater equality while drawing attention to stagnant incomes and the rising cost of living.

We were pleased to join on Jan. 15-18 in Baltimore, MD, for the 2026 AFL-CIO ⁦@AFLCIO⁩ Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference. It was a great event including presentation by our friend Professor Maya D. Wiley, a prominent civil rights activist.
