Mrs. May El Khalil, founder and president of the Beirut Marathon Association, visited LOST to explore organizing a marathon in Baalbeck with support from LOST and the Municipality of Baalbeck. 1/2

The project also promoted sustainable agricultural practices by establishing a model field at the Lebanese Agricultural Research Institute (LARI) to equip farmers, students, and engineers with the tools necessary to handle the ecological challenges posed by climate change.

The project focused on raising public awareness in Zahle pertaining to the significance of reusing treated water for agricultural purposes. Furthermore, capacity-building trainings were organized to enhance the farmers’ skills in managing irrigation water more efficiently.

Under CATRA project, LOST implemented a series of environmental & developmental initiatives in Bekaa. The initiatives included the installation of rainwater collecting systems in 11 public schools, alongside awareness campaigns for students on climate change & water conservation.

Through the generous funding of the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), it was possible to provide: - 2 Printing Machines for Al Kassr School & Hermel School (1 each), - 2 Lithium Batteries for Baalbeck School & Zaboud School (1 each),

Supporting Education in Emergency: A Step Towards a Brighter Future As part of the "DANIDA Education in Emergency" project, in partnership with Plan International, & in coordination with youth school clubs & school directors, LOST supported 6 public schools in Baalbeck-Hermel!

This project is part of the ongoing efforts to preserve the historical identity of Baalbeck and enhance the sustainability of its heritage landmarks, ensuring their protection for future generations. 5/5

The restoration work of the eight buildings included replacing broken glass, repairing windows, rehabilitating and installing a new tiled roof for Saint George Church, and installing four new doors for the Sisters' School. 3/5

As part of the effort to preserve the architectural heritage of Baalbeck, LOST has undertaken the restoration of several damaged heritage buildings in the city with the funding of ALIPH organization and in collaboration with the Directorate General of Antiquities. 1/5

The ninth building underwent complete rehabilitation- removing damaged tiles, clearing debris, casting new ceiling and floor, installing a suspended ceiling with wooden beams, & restoring the structure by reinforcing its walls with natural stone to ensure its sustainability. 4/5

A full house at the LOST conference 'Youth Solidarity against Extremism'. Wonderful to see so many young people from all denominations in the wider Bekaa Valley talk abt mutual understanding and abt bringing State Institutions closer to the people of Lebanon.

Through dynamic discussions and collaborative exercises, we foster a culture of understanding, equality, and resilience- equipping officers with the tools to serve people with empathy and professionalism. This builds a foundation for a more inclusive and peaceful society. 2/2
