@DaltonR77 @RuralUtahSports Exactly this. North Summit had 20+ seniors this year. If I’m not mistaken, they had only 1 or 2 underclassmen starters/contributors. This “move up” would reward/penalize the kids who weren’t the reason for the success.

What’s everyone thought of “realignment” on 3A-1A if they promoted the semifinal teams and demoted the 4 lowest rpi ranked teams? This is what it would look like next year.

@RuralUtahSports Interesting take, they would have to realign after every season if they did this. IMO, Football classifications should be just like the other sports. Do away with 1A, and have 12-14 teams in 3A and 2A.

@TBlazer5AS1 Been thinking about this a lot Coach. I was taught to “shoot hips” and always felt weird doing it. Now that I’m a coach, I want to teach power with hips back while also helping my players not fall on their face. Tips?

I also have friends and know kids currently who went the specialized route and lost that “passion” for the game. The grind got overwhelming! Sports (esp. in HS) should be fun. IMO.

I disagree with this so much. Every and i mean every kid I’ve coached (and myself) who got a scholarship in one sport played multiple sports

@coachMinor3 7th if they wanna play in college. Unless they are a unicorn. And by focusing on one sport I mean, school ball, spring-summer ball, fall ball the season again. Camps & clinics. 3 weeks off all year is a blessing!
