Anyway, if anyone else who sees this has any other particular examples of this phrase, or similar sounding ones, please share it here! This particular 'lick' has been so influential in my own writing that I've subconciously incorporated it into so much of my own work.

For the last few months I have been OBSESSED with this phrase I call the 'mitsuda lick'. It's a specific melodic phrase that you can hear all over VGM, BUT is notably known for being the main melody of Secret of the Forest. I've put together this demonstration of my findings.
