@mikecasey @napoleonbusch2 @adnanbelushi That's exactly what an electro greeny would say! You conveniently forgot to mention your involvement in founding "Project Hollywood" and the "Django Programme"!

Watch out for this guy, Mike Casey.
I spotted him on Q&A last week.
Seems this guy has WEF of some sort of Globalist UN Media Training.
In a nutshell, it seems like a rich kid who has too much money.
Bought everything electric for an orchard that he has somehow acquired.
A true ideologue and disciple of destination.
Definitely an operative of the WEF/UN...
Perhaps he could turn up at my place and take my LAWN MOWER challenge to prove to NZ that.
His unfit-for-purpose electric solution can mow a KIWI lawn.
@mikecasey -- Yes, Mike, I'm challenging you.
I will bring my 12-year-old masport (that's been living outside all its life)
You can bring any electric lawn mower you want.
And we will do the numbers - quantify the results.
Prove once and for all, for all NEW ZEALANDERS, how much more it costs to GO ALL ELECTRIC.
Bring your GO ALL ELECTRIC CREW and prove me wrong
Here is your opportunity to show us what you're made of.
@RCR_NZ - Can we have a debate on your platform, REALITY CHECK RADIO?
Perhaps we could stream it live?
Create a small documentary for you audiance and the wider NZ public

There are quite a few reports out there about the future costs of infrastructure, but they are usually paid for by private interests who will benefit from spending that money. My goal is to keep that as low as possible through the rollout of solar and batteries and making sure people get paid fairly for them.
But we’ve heard $20-40B which is a huge amount of money, but you must remember we spend $10B a year on foreign energy!
If you take my farm as an example 90% of the energy we use we create ourselves and we actually push power back to the grid during peak times when everyone else needs it.
The future of NZs electricity system needs to be customer focused, and we need to keep costs low. We need to be running on NZ made energy as much as possible
English

Is this guy smiling - or just crazy?
Who is paying you & for your propaganda efforts, Mike?
Here is a GREAT example of WHY you can't RE-WIRE NZ.
What are the NUMBERS for replacing the ELECTRIC PIPES (cables) to charge all the vehicles you demand we transition to, Mike?
How much will this cost us all? You're the numbers man. Come on...
youtu.be/DWfr2u7vbpk?si…
If Mike will not come clean on the numbers, we need to do them for him.
Come on, Mike - Put up or shut up --
And my lawns are getting higher by the day.. Best get here soon.. Before your machine just stalls out, unable to cope.

@napoleonbusch2 @kiwikipper I think we would enjoy a pint together and probably agree on more than we don’t. NZs electricity system works for shareholders and not our citizens and it needs a major shake up
English

@mikecasey @kiwikipper Because the domestic ENERGY extraction system was destroyed with purpose.
And our HYDRO sold - our Energy marketplace captured.
And now being monopolised.
What happens when there is scarcity and monopoly combined, Mike?

English

@napoleonbusch2 @kiwikipper I don’t think any of us liked that part of our history fella!

@mikecasey @jasonhockly @JosephMooneyMP @AlTaylorNZ @roscobigfulla @grant_farquhar @deane_ag @deanrabbidge Rogee, I'll keep you posted on this bloody bug 👍

Lets "Have a hmm"....
We're often told today, that wind and solar are cheaper today than hydro. I've always struggled with this.
So I did some googling. Apparantly so, atleast at first glance.
But then I reworded the question I was asking. And again.
Turns out, wind and solar are potentially the cheapest per MW installed. Thats it. An instantaneous viewpoint.
Hydro is still the cheapest, when factoring in lifespan.
It also, by a large margin, has the lowest EROI (Energy return on investment).

English

@BenDooley8 @jasonhockly @JosephMooneyMP @AlTaylorNZ @roscobigfulla @grant_farquhar @deane_ag @deanrabbidge Fuck yeah Friday sounds great! I’ll dm you my number
English

@mikecasey @jasonhockly @JosephMooneyMP @AlTaylorNZ @roscobigfulla @grant_farquhar @deane_ag @deanrabbidge Right now, I'll say no thanks for your sake 😅, you don't want this cold. But I'm on the improve, so if you're about on friday, and I'm well, I'd be keen! Happy to shout though.

You are missing the biggest cost which is the energy itself. Here is how things look atm per 500km for vehicles.
Now economics comes down to utilisation. If you dont drive much it might not be economic to switch. If you drive lots it stacks up.
That being said, it’s a free country - and if you’d prefer to buy expensive foreign fuels from a globalist market then fill your boots!

English

My assertion is that across the board, be it lawn Mowers, EVs - electric water heating systems, or whatever system one looks at.
The COST is approximately 80% higher than the existing reliable, robust, tried and tested tech
Solar panels and Wind Turbines are classic examples.
Wearing out before they can even pay themselves back.
Needing replacement within years.
This Masport lawn mower is a perfect example - 50 years and still fit for purpose.
I own a GMC 2500 HD that will be going in 70 years' time. And as effecent as my D22 when towing a large trailer.. getting 17L per 100km each
Cost? - The same price as a NEW BYD SHARK Ute.
which weighs 2700kgs, which gets 7.9L per 100km
My other ute is a D22 Nissan Navara, weighing 1700 kg and getting 7L per 100 kg. - Look it up - youtu.be/6NLnrKcO5IA?si…
Imagine over the LIFE of these two vehicles - The BYD is carrying this extra 1000kgs up every hill, accelerating this from every set of lights - Force=MxA
Over its entire life, which will be less than 10 years ( I predict)
My D22 is 20 years old, has done 300k Kms, and is just getting started.
The extra energy required over the life of these EVs is ridiculous..
How can you sit there and deceive the public with a straight face?
Going ALL ELECTRIC is about 80% more expensive, including the purchase price, the item's overall life, and depreciation.
It's basic math. What a SCAM

@BenDooley8 @jasonhockly @JosephMooneyMP @AlTaylorNZ @roscobigfulla @grant_farquhar @deane_ag @deanrabbidge Are you close to Invercargill? I’m here all week if you want lunch? On me!
English

Yea, I'm not going after solar here, or alteast not small scale, privately owned solar anyway.
The expansion of wind power really worries me, the short term view being taken with tax payers dollars sure won't lower energy prices long term. If I google "Cheapest electricity generation source" today, it says wind. But this is far from the truth, as lifespan is a critical part of costs.
If I bred sheep that were 25% cheaper to breed, but only lambed for 2 years, vs ones that lamb for 4, am I better off?
English

@napoleonbusch2 Yes conveniently. Because flying to the other end of the country to buy a push mower I don’t need to prove something I don’t really care about is awfully inconvenient 🤣
How well a mower cuts grass is a function of the kW/hp, rpm and sharpness of blades. Not the fuel source
English

So conveniently, Mike Casy of REWIRE NZ won't accept the challenge and opportunity to show NZ just how good GO ELECTRIC EVERYTHING is
Mike Casey@mikecasey
Im not particularly concerned about the mowers people use on their back lawns, or the bbqs the cook their sausages on either. Utilisation is low. Some prefer electric, some obviously don’t and domestic mowers dont get used enough strong economic argument either way. I prefer the quiet, ease of use and the lack of 2 stroke fumes but that’s just me! Im much more interested in cases where there are huge money saving opportunities. That’s largely Hot water systems, heating systems, solar systems and EVs in homes.
English

@napoleonbusch2 If you take the right still from a video you can make anyone’s eyes look crazy ;) I’m concerned how much you’ve been looking into my eyes bro 🤣 bit weird

When are you coming to my place to mow my lawn?
And show NEW ZEALAND how your GO electric EVERYTHING CREW is better than 50-year-old TECH -- or my 12-year-old mower, that has lived outside all its life and has blunt blades.
I have purchased this 50 year old 2-Stroke Masport just for you and this challenge.
Bring your LATEST and greatest electric WEAPON and prove to NEW ZEALAND that electric is fit for purpose.
Accept my challenge, Mike Casey - @mikecasey

@072Hill @napoleonbusch2 It did, tractor still goes but without support it might be hard to continue with it. Lots of new options now which is good but these are the risks early adopters take
English

@napoleonbusch2 The electric tractor company he uses just went bust
English

@kiwikipper @napoleonbusch2 This is true. I came in with a blank canvas and a lot of machines to buy to start a farm. In general it’s not a good idea to do everything at once, just look at electric options if available when it comes time to buy a new machine and do your numbers
English

@napoleonbusch2 When you make millions in tech and then transition to being a producer it's a bit fake.
If he started from scratch he wouldn't be electric.
English

@napoleonbusch2 EECA funded their tractor prob a few other things & they're miss reporting the cost of their electrification #nzelectricity
English

@adnanbelushi Happy to chat and clear a few things up if you are interested. You should have reached out first, always happy to front up to my critics
English

@napoleonbusch2 @adnanbelushi And very happy to go on Reality Check Radio if they will have me:)
English

Sounds like a bit of fun. I don’t actually have an electric push mower though, I’ve got a ride on one and to be fair it’s not as good as I would like. Generally we do most of our mowing with the tractor.
To clear a couple of things up. I grew up in Wellington, not wealthy but I feel I had a good childhood. I went to uni, got a degree in computer science then spent 12 years in Sydney where I founded and sold a startup.
We moved back to NZ in 2019 where we bought land, and then we planted the trees from scratch and started slowly buying electric machines as we needed them and building out a solar system.
No media training, no globalist agenda, just a lot of money saved on farm through generating and using our own energy and something I’d like to help our country achieve.
Ironically, I’m trying to get Nz away from global energy markets as much as we can and running on NZ made energy as much as possible.
English

Sorry lads I missed this as I have not been logging into X as much. Ben you are right, hydro wins if you push out the lifetime of the asset to 100 years, and solar wins in the short/medium term in cost per kWh of generation.
Pumped hydro is an interesting project but won’t lower power bills like rooftop/farm solar. I’m more in favour of immediate bills reduction if you had to choose
English

@jasonhockly @JosephMooneyMP @AlTaylorNZ @roscobigfulla @grant_farquhar @deane_ag @deanrabbidge @mikecasey There will be times where it will be buying and selling at that. Hopefully not always, but it needs a margin. If it goes ahead under private enterprize, it'l buy and sell when its economic to do so.
English

@nzstocksman @RewiringNZ @ME_NZofficial I got two grants to import an electric tractor from the US and electric frost fan from South Africa for the first time. They are called Demonstration grants and they are from EECA
English

@mikecasey @RewiringNZ @ME_NZofficial "we received a government grant to push the WEF agenda 2030" he won't tell you that and misses out the true cost. Fuck off ya lying cunt
English

We used to be staring down the barrel of a $50,000 diesel bill every single year. Instead we electrified 21 machines, cut our costs in half, built bigger solar, and now that diesel bill is actually a $40,000 revenue stream💵
📸 @rewiringnz / @ME_NZofficial
English

@wiremu_wilson @RewiringNZ @ME_NZofficial About $400k additional capital compared to buying diesel ones
