Houthis condemned the US-Israeli strikes on Iran, expressing full solidarity with Tehran. They stopped short of pledging direct military support, but while they appear defensive for now, they are building up on the ground, and if escalation widens, they are unlikely to stay out.

Iran's non-state partners have been severely weakened (especially Hamas, Hezbollah as well). The one actor in the Axis of Resistance who is stronger now than in 2023: the Houthis. Ideologically, they are also deeply aligned with the Islamic Republic. So I fully expect the Houthis to join the war and target shipping in the Red Sea and launch missiles and drones on Israel, starting pretty much now. Israel will then no doubt hit back, very hard, on Yemen.
