@jonathanallsopp whether costs are increasing or decreasing. No immediate plans to do this ourselves, but anyone with HES access could do this following the methods in the paper. (2/2)

@jonathanallsopp We would ideally want to calculate all healthcare (in-patient, outpatient, primary) and related costs (e.g. costs to social care) but data availability and linkages are an issue. Replication of the original analysis is more feasible, and would give an indication of (1/2)

@narodmit Hi Tim, I’ve been reading your study on lifetime inpatient costs (quoted in NHS long term plan) with great interest. Do you intend to update it at any point with more recent activity and cost data? Or expand the scope to outpatients too? Or would this be too difficult?
