@SoxMach_pnoles @paulderdash1 @Jake_Lonergan9 I think he’ll get time at both positions. If your plan is to draft Cholowsky at 1, it’s probably a good idea to look at Montgomery at third base too. Granted there is a risk of “messing with his head” but given how Montgomery dealt with last years issues, I think it’s a low risk

@nbb77 @paulderdash1 @Jake_Lonergan9 I think if Montgomery’s defense were average last season I’d be more on board, but he was borderline top-5 in the sport. We have to see if that was a fluke before anointing a dude who isn’t even part of the organization yet to take his place.

Colson Montgomery’s defense at shortstop was one of last season’s most pleasant surprises. He’s being bumped to third base a little too often in the early going to accommodate a guy who….how do I put this as nicely as possible….has done absolutely nothing to earn it

@SoxMach_pnoles @paulderdash1 @Jake_Lonergan9 Given their draft position and their views on Roch… playing Montgomery more at third base might actually be the better long term decision. Give him time there now because there is a decent chance he might be playing there this time next year. This is the better year to learn.

@johnnapil @SoxOn35th He’s only played 49 games in AA so far. There is no reason to rush him to the majors. Let’s start him in AA and see how it goes. We have plenty of options at the major league level to play and develop already.

My dad was born in 64 He lived to see basically the golden era of Chicago Sports He grew up with Payton, saw the Bears contend yearly, he saw the entire MJ Bulls era, the 83 and 93 Sox teams, Frank Thomas, the old Hawks teams, even the Cubs with Dawson/Ryno Not me though 😭

Reminder: I hate rebuilds, I always will They take too long, not having a chance to compete, and as a Chicago sports fan, I’ve seen too many of them Having to watch the Sox, Blackhawks and even the Bears last few yrs I’m especially fatigued Losing is not fun or cool
