This is a healing grid by Japanese artist Ryota Kanai. If you stare at the center, the irregularities start to heal themselves because your brain strongly prefers to see regular patterns.

Five shows to get to know me: 1. Jeeves and Wooster 2. The Detectorists 3. The X-Files 4. Better Call Saul 5. Doctor Who (canonical parts--I'm a Who sedevacantist these days)

Fear of marriage and kids is like fear of bungee jumping. Only after you go through the experience you realize you had nothing to fear and the whole thing is actually pretty awesome

The best time to get married, stay married, have kids, and raise them together is yesterday. The second best day is today. Do it.

All of these stores have gone out of business in the last 30 years. If you could bring one back to life, which one would you pick?

Since many asked, the two relevant instructions from my CLAUDE.md are: 1. For modern web tech: “- Always use the most modern HTML, CSS, and JS you can. If it's supported in every browser, even if it's only the most recent version, use it.” Note that the overshoot is intentional: The “most recent version” as far as Claude is concerned is May 2025! 2. For pushback: “- User should not have to ask you for your opinion explicitly. Always evaluate what the user is asking you to do, and voice your concerns before proceeding if you don’t think it's a good idea. If possible, propose a better solution, but you can voice concerns even without one. This applies even to direct requests to revert or simplify. Still evaluate whether your original approach was better. The user may be missing important context. If there was a solid reasoning you suggested that approach, push back with reasoning instead of silently complying.” I suspect there is a more succinct way to achieve the same result (I never claimed to be a prompt engineering expert!), but this works.
