The Notace toe box width is definitely roomy. Wider than Altra, but not substantially. The toe box shape is slightly different from Altra as well. But even with the width, the lockdown from the lacing system is better than on any running shoe I’ve tried.

I would love to see the global graph of "portrait mode photos taken over time" after iOS 26 shipped. Zero affordance. Taco says hello.

This was basically sacrilege as a trail runner, but I finally added elevation gain into Stacking. Vert has been my main metric for the past few months as I'm gearing up for UTCT 34km soon (2000m+ of gain!). Going to be fun!

Running has been 99% of my endurance training over the past two years. Roughly 6 hours (or ~60 km) a week. But over the last 90 days I’ve started experimenting with some cross-training. The main addition has been indoor cycling on Zwift. It's hard, because I'm so much worse at indoor cycling. A complete beginner! But I'm starting to see some initial signs of progress... Here's how these first 90 days have gone 👇

All of my running, swimming, cycling and rowing from the last two years shown on one chart. Added the "grey zones" to represent nighttime from daytime. (1) Quite often I run in the last hour of daytime, and you can see this in the data. (2) Indoor cycling seems to have opened up some period in the day for exercise where I previously would have been inactive. Noticing Monday night in particular. Wish I could see this plot for some others as well! Think you can learn a lot by eye-balling a plot like this. From mine, it's clear that (1) I'm active almost every day, (2) my activity is often short, but frequent, (3) I have a few regular scheduled activities a week (Thursday track, sometimes Tue evening or Saturday morning social run). I think you'd see much more regular patterns in more structured athletes. Think this is the seeds of the data you need to show hour-by-hour readiness to train. I'm pretty intuitive with my training. If I feel bad, I'll ease off the training -- so there's some degree of "response / reactivity" in this data.

Over the last two years, I've spent 6.5 hours a week endurance training. That's 3.8% of the 168 hours in a week. In total there's been 2141 activities (about 3 a day). Here's all of them show on a single chart 👇

@runliftrunlift Haha. That would've been some elite level stuff! 25 is still good though. I seem to be maxing out at about 15 runs a month. Hope to steadily increase this next year.

@nieldlr I definitely didn’t do 47 runs lol. I’m not sure either, I was wondering if that’s how many times I hit lap press or something. I count a separate warmup, but maximum about 25 run days with some doubles here or there in a month

I’m not a big zones guy, especially “Zone 2,” which doesn’t have a clear meaning. Are you referring to a 3-zone, 5-zone, or 8-zone model? Are you referring to blood lactate of 1.5 or 2.0 mmol/L? Or more? Looking at your Garmin or Strava and assuming your “Zone 2” is the voice of God for easy training can get you training too hard on easy days. I like a simple 70% of max heart rate as a guide. It’s not hard to establish a working max, then just let most of your running fall around that number. Heart rate training doesn’t need to be super precise, but you do need to be working off the right numbers.

@runliftrunlift If you listen to Phil Gore, I think he can go a lot more. Almost like he's cracked the code for Backyard Ultra's. Would love to try this format one day.

Backyard ultra stuff is nuts. I want to see how fast I can go a number of laps around a track or a certain distance on the road. A few hours maximum. No desire to drag my body 4 miles in a sleep deprived state. But respect to those who do. Running is what you make of it.

BIG'S - Yard 112!! Word around camp is it's Phil Gore's race to lose. The problem is the other three haven't gotten the memo. Never seen Harvey look this bad. He stepped into the corral with one second remaining. Ivo is moving by some invisible strings. They staggered back into the dark for one more loop.

1000km on these bad boys. First footwear I’ve ever got to 1000km and still functioning perfectly! In fact it got better with more mileage. That’s the beauty of minimal running 👌 Super curious how much more I can do in these.
