Steering Committee meeting focused on our priorities for the months ahead — aligning on key projects until the end of the year, preparations for the ALDE Congress this July in Vienna, and strengthening our efforts to promote liberal values across the Western Balkans.

Today @ALDEParty turns 50! 🎉 Back in 1976, leaders like Gaston Thorn launched a liberal movement built on freedom, democracy and the belief that Europe can always become something greater. 50 years later, that belief is still going strong.

Good news for Kosovo! The transfer of local governance in the north after the recent local elections was peaceful. Thanks to this, I am glad to announce that we are moving forward to lift the measures on Kosovo. We are programming €216 million of financial assistance. And we intend to release €205 million early next year.

🇪🇺 Today we held the LIBSEEN Steering Committee meeting! Liberal representatives from Southeast Europe discussed key political developments, welcomed Gibanje Svoboda as a full member, and advanced joint projects — strengthening liberal unity and cooperation across the region. 💪

“Our citizens want and deserve to live by European standards in our countries.” At the EU-WB dinner with Foreign and Deputy Ministers from the Western Balkans, LIBSEEN President Monika Zajkova MP called for stronger mutual support to meet the Copenhagen criteria.

Kenya has recognised Kosovo as a State. Kosovo's declaration of independence on 17th February, 2008, received the endorsement of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) @CIJ_ICJ in 2010. Kenya has recognised Kosovo in the interest of international peace and security, territorial integrity and in furtherance of strengthening relations with countries in the Balkans. In this regard, President William Ruto @WilliamsRuto today met Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani's @VjosaOsmaniPRKS special envoy Behgjet Pacoli @pacollibehgjet at State House Nairobi @StateHouseKenya.

I wish all Kosova citizens celebrating, their families and all our friends outside Kosova, a very merry Christmas. I attended the reception at our Cathedral of Saint Mother Teresa, remembering the holy work and sacrifice she made for the poor and the weak, as example to humanity.

We initiate immediate procedure to disaffiliate the political party “DPS”, dubiously renamed today “DPS Novoto Nachalo”, from its membership. We urge @ALDEParty and @RenewEurope to follow our example. Aligning w individuals or entities led by sanctioned figures is unacceptable.
