@MrTayo_ @instablog9ja You are one of those people when politicians say bunch of shit and nonsense and you open your mouth wide ready to swallow and digest. You are believing him when he says he doesn't have authority over security. Can he not give directive to the police force and similar agencies?

Oyo Schoolchildren K+dnap: I can not do anything about insecurity until I am elected the president in 2027 – Gov. Makinde Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has lamented his inability to fully tackle the growing wave of k+dnappings and abd¥ctions in the state, saying governors lack constitutional control over security agencies despite being referred to as Chief Security Officers. Speaking in Ibadan on Saturday while accepting the presidential nomination of the African People’s Movement (APM), Makinde said the continued captivity of abducted schoolchildren and residents in Oyo remains p@inful. “Today, innocent schoolchildren and citizens abd¥cted by criminals remain in captivity in Oyo State,” he said. “As Governor of Oyo State, I carry the burden of being called the Chief Security Officer of the state, yet lacking constitutional control over the security agencies required to fully address these thr£at.” Makinde argued that governors should not be blamed for insecurity when they do not control the agencies responsible for tackling it. “No governor should bear responsibility without having the authority necessary to act,” he stated. The governor promised to reform Nigeria’s security structure if elected president, insisting that states must have greater powers to respond to security thr£ats. “As President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, by the grace of God, I will work to reform our national security architecture so that states are no longer left helpless in moments of crisis,” he said. He added that decentralisation would be a major part of his security agenda. “The decentralisation necessary for more effective security management will be prioritised. The safety and security of Nigerians will never be treated as a political slogan,” Makinde declared. According to him, Nigerians are demanding leadership that delivers real results. “We cannot continue recycling the same approaches while expecting different outcomes. A new direction must emerge, one founded on competence, courage, accountability and compassion,” Makinde added.

@instablog9ja And where has that gotten us to? People are getting slaughtered like chickens, people are not safe in their communities or house, no safety on the road, no safety in schools, everywhere is dangerous and you are talking about subsidy and exchange rate. Misplaced priorities

Tinubu chose political reforms and reconstruction over comfort — House of Reps speaker, Abbas, praises the president Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has praised President Bola Tinubu’s administration on its third anniversary, describing the president’s reforms as bold decisions aimed at rebuilding Nigeria’s economy and stabilising the country. In a statement issued Friday by his media aide, Musa Krishi, Abbas said Tinubu inherited a nation battling subsidy distortions, exchange rate instability, insecurity, declining revenues and weakened investor confidence. “President Tinubu inherited a country on life support,” Abbas said, adding that the easier political choice would have been to “continue postponing reality.” “But President Tinubu chose reform. He chose reconstruction. He chose long-term national stability over temporary political comfort,” he stated. The Speaker said the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda was already showing results, noting that Nigeria’s GDP growth reportedly rose from 2.74 per cent in 2023 to 3.87 per cent in 2025, while external reserves improved significantly. He also said FAAC allocations increased after the removal of fuel subsidy and forex reforms, while foreign investment inflows rose from $654.65m in Q3 2023 to $5.64bn in Q1 2025. Abbas highlighted projects such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway and Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway as key economic projects under the administration. On security, he said spending increased from ₦2.98tn in 2023 to over ₦4.91tn in the 2026 budget, leading to intensified operations against t+rrorism, banditry and oil th£ft. He added that crude oil production improved under Tinubu, while more than 1.3 million students benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund. Despite criticisms over rising inflation and living costs linked to subsidy removal and forex reforms, Abbas insisted the policies were necessary for long-term economic recovery. “It is strategically expedient for Nigerians to renew President Tinubu’s mandate in 2027,” he said.

@NigeriaStories They just keep on making excuses. Is it not because of your irresponsible handling of security that more and more people are being captured and forced into joining terrorist groups? Fight against terrorism and stop telling us about rehabilitation.

The question is what is Nigeria doing. Nigeria is spending money on rehabilitating killers!!! People who kill innocent citizens in the most brutal way possible and then make videos of it and post on the Internet. When is the government going to start protecting its citizens?

How has Nigeria fallen so far!!!! 30 plus years ago, kidnappers only took children and after a couple of days ransom would be paid and the children will be returned safe. Today its a nightmare. Children and adults are being taken alike and the brutality is increasing day by day.
