Also interesting story about SPC and below going to parade rest for other lower enlisted: Until like late 2023, we had SPC and below going to parade rest for Gunners in our BN. Keyword being "Gunner", not any specific rank. If you were a gunner, you were an NCO and the exact same standards were expected of you as well as of your soldiers. So with that you also got the respect associated with that position, even if you didnt have the grade or rank. Most common were SPC gunners, I was one in Germany. I had a PFC gunner when I got to my first unit and somehow caught on pretty quick that it was about the position and not the rank. Never saw a SPC or below gunner let the rank go to his head though. They're too busy worrying about getting hemmed up by their TC and typically do a pretty good job of keeping their soldiers ready. You get a similar effect with new SGTs and SSGs where they're initially "assholes" (just trying to do the right thing lol) and gradually chill out.
