There is a major and terrible war going on in Europe right now, with tank battles and bombs on cities. Missile strikes in Europe should not become the new normal. Missile strikes against peaceful cities in Europe should not become routine. In the West, the vast majority of people think there won't be a war there. Simply because they are far away and further west. And for many other reasons. You know, before February 24, 2024, most Ukrainians thought the same: if there is a Russian attack, it will be somewhere in the East, somewhere between Crimea and Donbas. We could not imagine in our worst nightmares missile attacks on Kyiv, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, or the systematic destruction of Kharkiv. And that this war would last so long. We are grateful to every country and every leader who give us air defense systems. The air defense systems that many have in storage would save lives every day in Ukraine. Russian attacks and loss of life are our daily reality. We know that the skies over countries can be closed. This should become the new normal - the protection of innocent people.
