The president is equally not a demigod and as far as patient safety is concerned he is not as experienced as the orthopedic surgeon. You can't give a directive and go to sleep and return with this logic. There are real risks for patients in overcrowded situations.
AKWESI🇬🇭@_AlbertAkwesi

Because he is a Consultant orthopedic surgeon, he can defy the president’s directive, and when he is suspended you say the minister doesn’t respect him.. make it make sense, noble profession enti the doctor is a demigod ?

Clinicians don't take clinical instructions from politicians. They owe a duty to their patients not any politician. The CEO is not just a public official. He's a seasoned clinician who knows more about patient safety than you and your boss.
MrOpare@mista_opare

Nobody is scapegoating the CEO. He openly defied a directive from his appointor and must face the consequences. If public officials can pick and choose which directives to obey, then accountability in public service becomes meaningless. Are we now normalizing dereliction of duty by appointed officials in government institutions?

Not CEO’s fault that A&E for 37 patients is flooded with 95. KATH’s problem is inadequate capacity; not the CEO. Fix the problem & stop the optic circus. ‘You don’t blame the cook when the pot is too small’. -Larteh Proverb😡!

@Seazzer Fair enough. Until you’re not stable to fly to access your healthcare abroad there they’ll know. Ghana will happen to all of us sooner or later if we don’t do the right thing.

Don't scapegoat the KATH CEO. Fix the mess. Silencing health professionals won't solve the problem.

We’ll stage a demonstration against the Health Minister and this government if the Komfo Anokye doctors who abstain from work over the suspension of the CEO are paid their full salaries this month. There must be consequences for the misguided actions

We praise pilots who refuse to fly unsafe aircraft. We admire engineers who halt dangerous projects. Yet somehow, when healthcare leaders make difficult decisions in the interest of safety, some people suddenly believe obedience should matter more than judgment.

This is where I disagree with the with KATH doctors. We must weigh the pros and cons of every single actions. In this instance, could they not have issued a public condemnation for the minister's decision to suspend the CEO and also shown solidarity with the CEO by backing the temporary interventions of management without resorting to strike? I think there are ways to show solidarity and put pressure on political authority without unnecessary cost to patients
