I have been researching and reporting on Iran for over two decades. The question I keep hearing from Western media is whether anyone can say with confidence what Iranians want. I can. @Andrewnsnyder There's also a difference between knowing ABOUT something and knowing it. A twelve year old who loves Narnia so much that she lives there understands Lewis much better than any number of scholars with dissertations. (Not that one can't be both a scholar and a lover.)

This is not an absolute rule, but, generally speaking, people who call themselves Tolkien or Lewis scholars should not be trusted. Someone who organically becomes an expert because they love the writing is far more trustworthy than a "very important" academic who needs attention
