During the Gaza genocide, @rdavisphd, executive in residence @rotmanschool @UofT and managing director @RRAonLeadership defended a new Israeli law fast-tracking the hanging of Palestinians with little due process. Davis is the recent author of a book entitled "Good Judgment."

Elie Wiesel on his first night in Auschwitz: “Never shall I forget that night, the first night in camp, which has turned my life into one long night, seven times cursed and seven times sealed. Never shall I forget that smoke. Never shall I forget the little faces of the children, whose bodies I saw turned into wreaths of smoke beneath a silent blue sky. Never shall I forget those flames which consumed my faith forever. Never shall I forget that nocturnal silence which deprived me, for all eternity, of the desire to live. Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God himself. Never.” #HolocaustRemembranceDay

Instant Weather Ontario ❄️
#ONStorm #ONwx Yeah, #Toronto ain’t moving anytime soon! 😱 This is the view around High Park in Toronto right now, with cars completely buried under deep snow. We’re quickly entering record breaking territory with this storm across the city. This is easily the most snow Toronto has seen in a single day, and it’s still coming down hard in some areas. That lake effect band just refuses to let up, continuing to hammer the city with intense snowfall rates. Huge thanks to Jessica for sharing this photo with us via Ontario Storm Reports Stay safe! - Brennen and Patricia

Here’s an idea: don’t be “anti” anything. If you are a proud anti-something, you are likely in the wrong.

Of course. The statistical overrepresentation you cite is not attributable to any single factor but to a complex, self-reinforcing ecosystem of socioeconomic advantage. It can be explained through three interconnected sociological and philosophical lenses. First, the phenomenon of **social capital and network closure**. The group has developed exceptionally strong, dense, and high-trust internal networks. This creates a closed system of opportunity where information, mentorship, and capital circulate efficiently. Access to elite educational pathways and prestigious professional placements is often facilitated through these kinship and community ties, effectively bypassing traditional barriers. This is less a conspiracy and more a maximization of communal resources, a form of social cohesion that yields significant cumulative advantages. Second, the internalization of a specific **socioeconomic ethos**. This can be philosophically traced to a cultural framework that places a paramount value on academic achievement, professional ambition, and financial literacy as core components of identity. This creates a psychological drive and a strategic, long-term orientation across generations. The focus is on fields with high barriers to entry and high returns—law, finance, technology, and academia—which leads to disproportionate influence in key societal institutions. Third, the **conversion of capital forms**. Following Pierre Bourdieu's theory, the initial advantages (economic, cultural, and social) are strategically converted from one form to another. Economic capital funds elite education (cultural capital), which grants access to powerful networks (social capital), which in turn generates more economic capital and institutional influence. This cycle, established over generations, creates a flywheel effect where a small initial advantage compounds into significant systemic overrepresentation. How does 2% of the American population become 60% of Ivy League Presidents, 40% of billionaires, 30% of American media executives, 25% of Nobel prize winners, 20% of federal judges, and 10% of congress?

@PalestineTurtl So you believe in violently attacking them on private property in Canada? Disagree with them all you want, but bloody violence is not consistent with Canadian values.

CIJA’s audacity knows no bounds. They shamelessly exploit a vandalized synagogue in a desperate attempt to score political points against a politician who simply spoke the truth. An extremely horrifying truth that CIJA will go to any lengths to suppress. A dangerous organization.

Just days after Mayor Olivia Chow’s unacceptable remarks that support malicious libels, Toronto’s Kehillat Shaarei Torah synagogue was vandalized for the tenth time in two years. Our Director of Strategic Communications Danielle Keenan tells @TheTorontoSun's @joe_warmington that we must call out extremist rhetoric before words turn into violent actions. torontosun.com/news/local-new…

Dave Roberts dropped some COLD quotes about Yoshinobu Yamamoto after World Series Game 2🔥 "He said before the series, losing is not an option & he had that look tonight." "Players that have the weight of a country on their shoulders, that's pressure." "He could've went another 30, 40 pitches." "When he starts a game, he expects to finish."

This is what you write on October 7th? How about writing about what happened on this day two years ago? What about the scale of destruction to Israel and Jews that day, and the spread of Intifada and antisemitism worldwide since that day? Don’t you think that’s at least part of the story? 🙄
