We recently lost our insurance because my wife left the company she worked for that provided it. We both do well financially, so we are considering what we should do next. As health insurance has degraded so much over the last 5 years with massive increases in premiums and deductibles, I'm thinking we should only have catastrophic coverage and pay cash for everything else.

We pay around $3500 a month for 4 people
Son went to the ER after a bike crash, no major tests or scans, basic blood work and exam. There an hour.
They billed $2800 ON TOP on a $500 co-pay and our insurance covered $568

Look at these murderers walking away like they just stole a candy bar. Zero fear or care in world for what they just did. MLB rules say runners have an “obligation” to stay within 3 feet of their base path while avoiding a tag, per source.

You don't understand the rule.
Gunnar isn't entitled to have Clement run to him.
Gunnar has to make an effort to tag him.
Gunnar didn't make an effort to tag him -- he saw where Clement was an decided to throw to first instead in order to get that out.
Had he turned pursued Clement, then Clement would have been evading him out of the base path.
Clement could run wherever he wanted -- it only mattered if Gunnar was trying to tag him. He wasn't.

I've watched the clip of this a few times back (I'm sure most Os fans have) and my conclusion is: I can't believe how unfathomably stupid this explanation is by Hunter Wendelstedt, and how much it doesn't reflect that Clement actually moved after Gunnar fielded the ball.

This argument is so flawed. In the frames right before this Gunnar starts to go for the tag and saw that Clement was too far out of the baseline to have any chance to tag him AND get the out at first base. The rule exists for a reason.
