How many of y'all have participated in a wrestling match? Our friends at the ADFL have filed a complaint in federal court. The claims do include one for assault. I worry that the assault claim will appear frivolous. And that may merely annoy the judge. So, before we set off on an online lynching, let me ask: Et tu?

The complaint that ADFL filed in federal advances five claims. One of them concentrates on assault. I can imagine debate around the ADFL conference table about that claim. Should it have been included, because the real action is in the other claims. Those are the ones that anyone who wants to get men out of women's sports would, as a matter of policy, care about most. Did ADFL include the assault claim because it adds color and drama to the entire matter? But will it (I worry) jeopardize the entire case? So, "standing with Kallie" is great, but will you stand by with whatever disposition of the matter that the court renders? I ask, because process matters. Process is the stuff we resort to in place of more traditional modes of process: lynchings, mob justice, witch burnings, trials in the court of public opinion, Two-minute Hates and such. Not that federal legal process can't also be corrupted! But, our recent experiences with "Me, Too!" and George Floyd indicate that taking moral stands on hot takes can make for a bad business. Please, don't reduce the fight to preserve the integrity of women's sports to a moral panic ginned up on social media. Here's the complaint: adflegal.org/wp-content/upl…

Bad men will manufacture respectability to get away with sexual assault. I've seen it before. I've been through it before. Why do people keep falling for it!? It's enraging. I stand with Kallie Keeler.

@TheYootopian @Amy_Siskind Among other things, bringing down the costs of launching a kilo--or 1,000 kilos--into orbit by 95% is for losers... LOOZERS! ... Although the market (which, collectively, is the rest of us) affirmatively disagrees with that assessment.

I recommend this not too long interview. It makes heavy contact with a matter I myself have been puzzling about: How did Sinn Fein become so woke? And, an answer would be: It was always woke. It was always invested in the Leninist Who/Whom; Oppressor/Oppressed perspective of the world. And, so, post-1998 (post-Good Friday Agreement), it merely redirected its energies towards new projects. Those new projects were yet consistent with the old project, but none of those actually concentrated on elevating Irish nationalism. The old project was just a chapter of "anti-imperialism."

Elon Musk helped put Northern Ireland’s anti-migrant riots on the world’s radar. But most commentary completely misses the local context. Why did it kick off there? If you’re American, watch this interview with Belfast-based writer @SemperFemina21. ngocomment.com/p/belfast-riot…

@CaffMomREDACTED It is. Among other things, Obama was the "constitutional scholar" who yet managed to publish as many scholarly articles on constitutional law as everyone born tomorrow. An empty bag of hot air.

Obama was a dumb person's conception of what a smart person looked like. Lots of fronting with, say, his book lists, but no evidence he ever read anything on more than a surface level. Bill Clinton, evil as he was, was both more intelligent and more intellectually curious than Obama. Clinton was known as a "policy wonk," a guy who intimately studied the details of governance, the nuances of legislation and rules. He was able to clearly communicate his political objectives in ways that demonstrated he knew what he was talking about. This only comes from a genuine intellectual curiosity about the world. Obama was never a policy wonk, though at times he fronted as one. He had no interest in the inner workings of government. If Clinton was the kind of guy to read a bill from front to back, memorizing every nuance and coming up with objections or suggestions, Obama was the kind of guy who ordered an intern to read it and write a CliffsNotes. The difference between the two men was the difference between reading the book versus reading the Wikipedia page. I have no doubt that if Obama were president today, he'd be using ChatGPT to summarize policy papers. Successful politicians in the pre-Trump era appealed to the prejudices of their constituencies. With Dubya, it was the false image of him as an everyday Joe, "the kind of guy you'd like to have a beer with." Stuff like the brush-clearing photo op outside his ranch, him hiring a voice coach to maintain his fake Texan accent, even arguably his malapropisms were used to reinforce this. In actuality, Bush was a deeply reflective individual who read voraciously. Obama's image was that of the pretentious NPR wannabe polymath, the kind who has a David Sedaris hardcover on their coffee table and self-consciously carries around a Moleskine notebook they bust out at Starbucks or on the train. 105 IQ pretending to be 150 IQ; a summary of the libtard mindset.

ADFL has filed its complaint. We will see where legal process goes, but one can imagine a judge having a hard time with this matter. Among other things, a lot of things go into "Assault." I imagine intent would have something to do with it, but our friends at ADFL would hopefully have some things to say about that. Meanwhile, one can ask if this matter is the best one ADFL could come up with for pursuing the larger objective: getting men out of women's sports. I say this as: a contributor of many years to ADFL and as an occasional contributor to XX-XY sports. (!) I even have XX-XY socks.

To use a leftie term, I’m feeling especially triggered by the response to what happened to Kallie Keeler. All the anon accounts screeching that it's a normal part of wrestling, just an "oil check" (an illegal move by the way, that this was not), that she's too wimpy and weak to be a wrestler if she can't handle it. Bullshit. She was assaulted. A man stuck his fingers inside her vagina and held them there. This incident echoes dark patterns that I have witnessed and even been caught in the midst of for decades. Bad men will hide behind shields of respectability while abusing girls and women in plain sight. As a former gymnast and whistleblower, I see the parallels to Larry Nassar immediately. Nassar hid behind the respectability of his medical degree and his role as USA Gymnastics team doctor. After he abused young female athletes for 30 years, finally women came forward in droves to report the assaults. Those victims were attacked for months until there were too many to ignore. My coach hid behind his "coach" title, while claiming to keep athletes safe as a spotter, then molesting in plain view. Athletes were shamed into silence. Predators will exploit any opening to find, abuse and assault their victims.

NEW: Prosecutors say they will not charge trans wrestler with alleged sexual assault of Kallie Keeler because of "case law concerning consent in athletic contests." If only the state of Washington had given Kallie the option to consent to being touched by a male.

My guess is that ADFL is mostly looking for a case to set up the proposition that males--whether "trans" or not--should at least be identified in women's competition. But, an observer (like a judge) might like to evidence of harm. (Declaring that a murder has occurred is one thing. Having a dead body to point to makes for a stronger case.) Hence the story about penetration. The sequence of posts we've been treated to is to inspire outrage and not so much to illuminate strategic intent. Meanwhile, many of the non-wrestlers act surprised that a lot of rough, and often incidental, contact may occur through the course of match involving contact sport. I am not sure if a judge would be into the story--which is what?--that the offending wrestler intended to violate the other?

Israel is the test case. Strip away its history, rewrite the story, manufacture a cause, and suddenly terrorism is “resistance” and self-defense is “aggression.” The same formula will be applied to Britain and to Western Europe. The same voices that delegitimize Israel’s right to defend itself will one day delegitimize your right to defend your own people. Erase the facts, invent a victimhood narrative, and brand the natives as oppressors. That is the script. Today it’s Israel. Tomorrow it’s you.

In the United States, this kind of thing started in the late 1980's. After the Detroit Pistons won the NBA championship in 1989, fans made a big mess in the streets of Detroit. The country was shocked. The scale of the events in Detroit were very small compared to what goes on now in Paris. But, since 1989, city officials in any big city in the United States have come to expect demands for heavy policing after any great loss or victory in a sporting championship. Meanwhile, Paris has long become inured to a few thousand torchings of vehicles _every year_. It's just how they do business. But the recent activity amounts to quite an escalation.
