The first pic is an epitome of the chalta hai mediocrity that is an incurable national disease now. That carpet has been laid out in the most shabby manner possible and it looks ratty or perhaps tacky and rundown. Is this sort of effort worthy of a state visit? These are trifles but high quality is attained only when all trifles are taken care of. Look at this pic from the Japanese Parliament. They don’t leave even the position of tea cups to chance.
