@Ruleof2Review This is the first year in probably the last 10 that I've watched a majority of the best picture noms. Train Dreams was a standout for sure. Just a really quiet and reflective movie that you have to sit with for a good while after viewing. I greatly appreciate that.

Just watched Train Dreams. Managed to get it in before The Oscars on Sunday. Excellent film. Beautiful shot. Very powerful and sad. Shame it has no real shot at winning Best Picture but it definitely earned its nomination. Highly recommended provided you’re in the right mindset.

@spencer_askew It's an interesting case study for sure! I really like where the prequel's story goes, even if the storytelling itself is incredibly uneven. They are so ambitious and wrestle with such big ideas, but you really feel that the scripts needed a few more drafts.

It is perfectly reasonable to both love a movie (whether it be for nostalgic reasons or otherwise) and ALSO admit that it is not a great movie. This is that murky place where the Star Wars prequels live. Were the lightsaber battles amazing to watch? Absolutely! Can we admit that it takes a really poor script to make people like Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman look like bad actors? Absolutely! The prequels are both wonderful and strangely awful. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for these incredibly-mid movies.

@KirPinkFury Having played and enjoyed all the English localized games, I totally disagree with you. 3H is an absolute masterpiece and easily my favorite.

I have been saying. Although I still find Awakening to be the top Fire Emblem game. Top 3: 1. Awakening. 2. Radiant Dawn. 3. Path of Radiance. I'm happy 3H brought more fans, but that isn't at all the best FE game.

@KirPinkFury So in other words, Nintendo has already made their money on those sales. It's Walmart and Amazon selling at a loss, or at cost. Which is fairly common practice to get people in store or to build their baskets online.

@KirPinkFury I could be wrong but I don't think that's how it works. My understanding would be that Nintendo sells to the retailers at scale, so technically it is the retailers taking a loss not Nintendo.

I have been thinking all day about how Nintendo will financially recover from the discounted price Amazon and Walmart are offering for Mario Kart World. If I were Nintendo, I would cut ties with both as a physical goods distributor.

@Ruleof2Review This phase was cool but the first phase with all the companions was so catastrophically bad that I was pissed off this whole phase.

In terms of gameplay, action, & rhythm of the battle I totally agree with this statement due to modern mechanics of Prime 4 versus prior games. However Dark Samus is a more interesting & foreboding foe for Samus. Their first showdown in MP2 is my all time favorite Prime moment.

@TheNCSmaster Steam Deck is amazing! Easily my favorite current gen device. Congrats! Highly recommend emudeck for emulation and deckyloader for customization.

@Ruleof2Review Agreed! I had a blast with this one. Running Man and Last Night in Soho are super underrated imo.

Just saw #TheRunningMan. I was nervous due to the trailers but I actually liked it a lot! Of course doesn’t compare to the ‘87 Arnold film, and there’s some odd pacing throughout. But overall it’s way more fun than I expected. Just a kickass romp. Edgar Wright always delivers!
