@Henry__Oliver I think it's over. Peeni has taken and now held a 250 vote lead. I know it's outside your mandate but flick over to Te Tai Tokerau.

@michelappleton I'm happy for you to do this for me. I'll DM you my phone number. I went to bed at the innings break feeling very confident.

It’s 3.30am in 🇳🇿 Without making any assumptions about the result, I do feel like waking up every Kiwi cricket fan I know who might be asleep back home.

@suzikyla23 @MiriamaKamo Haha. That is entirely up for debate. I do have the benefit of sitting with a group of young people. "Fit" was probably retired by cool people years ago.

@secondzeit I reckon he’s got a point. I can’t count the times I’ve gone out to get some camembert and ended up having a ménage à trois.

This is our documentary on slash (forestry debris) and its impact on Tairāwhiti/Gisborne. If you don't live in these communities it's hard to understand how impactful it is. But in some places, it's breaking people. Please watch it, if you have the time. 1news.co.nz/2023/03/05/joh…

Second week back at work: we’ve got a new PM during election year, lost an indomitable whaea of the Māori rights movement, had an unprecedented weather event in our biggest city, and that city’s Mayor has just called an independent review on himself. 2023…

In all the discussions about not breaching name suppression. I would like to remind people that Pākehā are granted name suppression three times as often as Māori, even though Māori are charged with more crimes.

@DavidBrain Thanks David. That’s it. Absolutely will do our own work. But seemed an interesting bit of relative perspective.

Yesterday I saw a comparison of New Zealand's economic results on inflation, employment, and GDP growth with the usual global suspects and was interested in exploring it for a story. But I can't find it any more. Help...?

@simondangerday they’re obviously less skilled which is understandable but also, in general, they are stylistically behind the nba/pro-basketball. still lots of post ups, clunky spacing, running rote halfcourt sets, etc

I’m usually pretty critical of the watchability of college basketball, particularly offensively, but these teams are good to watch: -Marquette -Baylor -Alabama -Missouri Arizona and Gonzaga are also good to watch despite playing a lot with two traditional non-shooting bigs

@trillybball As an uneducated NBA fan, why is College basketball such a rough watch?

Very proud of this story (and proud of Stevie for sharing). Three weeks ago we followed Stevie in the days before and after their top surgery. It’s really beautiful - I encourage you to watch. renews.co.nz/im-getting-top…
