If the first officer of that other plane was recording landings ... that tells you that it was pretty sketchy already. @petemuntean

Not sure this is modern enough though. Not sure of current EU leaders.

Snow is picking up and the National Weather Service is warning of deteriorating conditions as accumulation on roads will begin as it turns dark (if it hasn't already). See the latest at cwg.live

NOTE: The Hollins report is apparently from 3 miles south of town in the higher elevations. Less so far in the valleys.

Wow! Hollins, Virginia is already up to 12.5 inches! That's in WAY western Virginia... but that's shifting east. I think folks near Fredericksburg are going to be the winners along the I-95 corridor.

@BarredinDC Most use compostable PLA straws that are legal per DC guidance (or so was in 2019 when I was purchasing for a company), but in practice present the same problems if they end up in the river or elsewhere as plastic straws. They don’t compost without special processing.

Almost never see paper straws in DC except chains or cap one/Nats park. I assume (naively?) straws at most DC bars/restaurants are agave or some other non-plastic legally compliant material, correct me if wrong
Martin Austermuhle@maustermuhle

Well, probably not? D.C. banned plastic straws a few years ago, and it’s unlikely that any executive order could reverse local mandates. So that restaurant on Pennsylvania Avenue would still have to abide by the city’s ban.

@BarredinDC Come to think of it, might be a good dividing line between elder millennial and younger millennial.

The number one bar you should take your visiting friends to DC - The Green Zone - just updated their beautiful menu, featuring their Barred in DC cocktail Hall of Fame Mint Lemonade and 5-8p daily HH (plus 2p-2a Sunday) about 25% off select cocktails

There was an incident in 2013 involving a military helicopter and a commercial airliner at DCA that feels way too similar. cnn.com/2013/05/27/us/…
