There’s a part in the book where he mentions that Shenzhen used to be known for its oysters, but industrialization wiped them out. Can’t help but think that in the US we would have picked protecting the oysters over the industrialization.

No, not in the US where 90% of buildings have air conditioning! 🇺🇸 US had 1,714 heat-related deaths in 2022 🇪🇺 Europe had a staggering 62,862 heat-related deaths in 2022 That's a staggering 36x more deaths, or 27x more if you adjust for population! Insane
