But your local hospital chain that got bought, levered up, understaffed, and is now closing wards? The dental chain that fired half its dentists to hit EBITDA? The nursing homes? That's Version 2 operating on human beings instead of retail brands. So the answer to "what good does PE do" is the same answer as "what good does a knife do."
