ここ１～２日に海外の日本アニメ・ゲームファンによる「海賊版」の話がもちきりだ。
でもよくよく聞いてみると決してそのまんまじゃなくてファンの有志によって現地の字幕を付けられたものだったりすることが分かってきた。
これは言ってみればファンによる自力ローカライズだ。
ただ問題は、それを無償配布しちゃうこと。
別に「自力ローカライズ」をするななんて言ってない。
その後の「無償配布」があかん。
とはいえ、熱心なファンが理解できる様にしたい気持ちは分かる。
角川アニメ（涼宮ハルヒとか）は、日本での放送と同時に英語版を始めとした外国語版を公式が一斉配信してた。
だから海賊版の出る幕は全くなかった。公式見れば全部見られるんだから。
結局は「海賊版」ってところに目が生きがちなんだけど「ローカライズ版（が無い）」ってことなんじゃないか？
結局のところ「公式が頑張ってローカライズ版を準備する」のが一番ってことになる。
大手はそこを頑張って欲しいなあ。

@Bhedphone906 @Mashiro_yuh If you want my personal opinion, it's obviously in poor taste to flaunt it around. I don't advocate this. Also, if a mangaka wants to quit because Japanese shame culture is less effective outside of its borders, I think they just need to keep working earnestly and worry less.

海賊版の話題で見られるのは、海賊版はそもそも罪ではないという主張です。これは自己正当化で、「罪を認める名誉」とは全くの別物に見えます。

@sow_LIBRA11 I think many of us know that most mangaka, animators, and game developers are not rich. But the executives at Sony and Kadokawa (who are wealthy) are not paying them higher salaries regardless of how many copies are sold or how many times it's viewed on legal streaming services
