#processing bug 643 (github.com/processing/pro…) has been closed, and will now move forward with an exciting new #py5 feature providing integrations with the Python libraries shapely and trimesh. Stay tuned!

New #py5 release 0.9.0a0 today! This was a lot of work! It's been 5 months since the last release, so this one has a ton of new features and bug fixes. You can read about them on the maintainer's blog (ixora.io/blog/new-relea…), but here 👇are the two biggest highlights: 1/🧵

The documentation and example code for the next #py5 release was a Herculean task but it is now complete...release to come later this week! Very excited to share py5's new features with the py5 community!

Working hard on the next #py5 release! Just finished the rough draft of the docs for the new features, plus adding new ideas that emerged while writing. The next release will support writing Java and Python code together in one Sketch. New avenues for you to explore. Stay tuned!

There's one more issue to fix + documentation to write, then will do a #py5 release. This release & documentation will make py5's Processing mode available, providing #processing (Java) users with an easy to use callPython() method to add to Sketches. Release to come in April...

Just completed a major overhaul of the inner workings of #py5's reference documentation, converting hundreds of reStructuredText files to Markdown. Users of py5coding.org shouldn't notice a difference, but if you happen to spot a formatting issue, please report it!

This artwork, currently showing @bitforms gallery, is a #Processing Sketch that uses #py5 in "Processing mode" to allow the #Java code to connect with the #Python #data tools supporting the work. py5 can be used as a bridge to connect @processingorg's Java framework to Python.

The wheels are in motion for another #py5 release! Should be ready in a few days. Mostly bug fixes and small enhancements. This will be the 7th and most likely final release for the year.
