@PLMatchCentre when the laws of the game clearly state “It is an offence if a player: deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball” how can you have accidental hand ball as you stated ?

@HACKETTREF 100% and if the ref thought he deliberately moved towards the ball with his arm to prevent a goal scoring opportunity (ie shot) then its also should have been a straight red (as per the laws of the game). So by not giving any card that's a clean indication he felt it wasn't.

The body shape was not larger. No movement of hand to ball. The deflected ball certainly struck the arm. At the time it did the body was vertical. Not a penalty kick for me.

@henrywinter The biggest issue actually, why if the officials believed it was deliberate hand ball wasn't he given a red card ? This law is black & white no grey area. So working it back, its either pen & red card or no foul / no pen, as the rules are written
