I don't believe keeping Howe is the correct decision but I'm willing to support him and back the team and let's see how things unfold. Need to learn from mistakes made in the last year. #nufc

🚨 Eddie Howe set to remain Newcastle United boss. As things stand + barring unexpected turn of events 48yo will lead #NUFC into 26/27 - retains ownership/hierarchy support & keen to continue. All parties accept this season can’t be repeated @TheAthleticFC nytimes.com/athletic/72368…

@MMORTON6 Congrats 'Popeye' on a stellar career. Some players choose to go out on a high and I'm glad you fall into that category. Good luck on your next chapter but for now you should feel mighty proud for the career you've had. A top human being too. @popeyekeet

@paigeordie I'm with you on this one. I am happy we won but the manner of that 2nd half suggests this win has just prolonged the inevitable. Also Woltemade not featuring at all leaves a sour taste at the minute.

@TransferChecker Yet he can't do 36 successful passes in 90 minutes. Truly astonishing

🇸🇪⚡️ Anthony Elanga made 36 touches in just 7.08 seconds — that’s almost five touches every second! 🤯

@LukeEdwardsTele Has it been considered that perhaps the team wasn't presenting him with opportunities so the issue could perhaps be the rest of the attack and not him specifically?

I like Nick Woltemade but he’s not able to play as a lone centre forward in the Premier League as things stand. And for his fanboys and girls read this statistic The German has not scored in the league since December, managing only 31 shots on goal in 30 league appearances this season with only 12 on target. Of his seven goals, one was a penalty #nufc

Honestly, I can understand losing but starting with such a defensive team when there are so many attacking options available, just makes us sitting ducks. Arsenal who have dropped points lately will not believe how easy today will be for them. #nufc

@GreggMac11 I generally always follow and watch the South Africans when they're playing in the IPL & this season we've got the most contracted players we've ever had but I just can't sit down and watch this unfair contests. There's also been too much T20 cricket SA20, WC & IPL in succession

IPL is getting ridiculous with these regular scores over 230/240 Not enjoyable when there is zero contest between bat and ball. Everything set up in favour of the batsmen!! #IPL

@Soshangane_ @sahil_e_ @IOL They're probably trying different angles to make sure Newcastle United accept the game. I do agree the national team wouldn't make sense and it can be a local team or a combined PSL eleven for a worst case scenario. (Australia, Korea did this before)

@sahil_e_ @IOL @wasimebrahim Only SAFA can organise Bafana matches so they’d get all the revenue and they only play in the official FIFA intl windows Newcastle would have to also release their players to their countries. Club vs Country matches are difficult to coordinate in season.

𝗕𝗔𝗙𝗔𝗡𝗔 𝗩𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗟𝗘? KNOX Hydration from Mzansi just sealed a partnership with Newcastle United — and they’re pushing to bring the Toon to South Africa for exhibition games in Cape Town as early as 2027. 🇿🇦 Sources told @IOL that plans are underway for exhibition matches in Cape Town, potentially featuring Newcastle United against Bafana Bafana or leading domestic clubs. 🤝 The English Premier League club recently agreed to a £6 million-per-year deal with KNOX Hydration. 💷
