@wpgtiger @Takhar77 I was talking about teams currently in the playoffs, I know Winnipeg, Calgary and Vancouver fans will still watch. The point was it doesn't matter when those 3 teams play, they will still get huge ratings.

The Leafs Effect: Rogers paid $5.2 billion for their NHL TV deal, but without the Leafs, are unable to get a single Canadian team playing on prime time Saturday tonight, or next week.

@Takhar77 The reason for this is, they know hockey fans in Ottawa and Montreal and Edmonton, will watch no matter what time the game is, Leafs fans are fair-weather fans and don't watch hockey unless it's Saturday night. So doing it this way is trying to get more eyes on the other series.

As it relates to Connor Hellebuyck, I was told recently that it wouldn’t be surprising if he plays elsewhere next season. A number of factors at play, including his discontent with how the season went for the Winnipeg Jets. 4 yrs left at $8.5M. 33 yrs old next season.

GM, not owner. We've more or less seen this philosophy for the entirety of his tenure. There is more importance placed on player control, in my opinion, than actually playing the player. In the end, you end up losing the player anyway. It's a development path issue.

Just heard Connor Hellebuyck’s exit interview today. I’d be worried if I were the Jets. Couple that with Heinola yesterday, and how slow the development path is for top young players, no one is going to want to come here or stay here without a significant philosophic overhaul.

The #NHLJets are going to finish with the second-fewest points in a full season in 2.0 history -- one year removed from winning the Presidents' Trophy. Their 82 points this year is a 34-point drop from 2025-26, and only 4 points better than the 78 they posted in 2015-16.
