Council of Trent, Session XXII Canon 9. If anyone says that the rite of the Roman Church, according to which a part of the canon and the words of consecration are pronounced in a low tone, is to be condemned; or that the mass ought to be celebrated in the vernacular tongue only; or that water ought not to be mixed with the wine that is to be offered in the chalice because it is contrary to the institution of Christ, let him be anathema.

The problem is in the canon 906, which can be easily manipulated: “Except for a just and reasonable cause, a priest is not to celebrate the eucharistic sacrifice without the participation of at least some member of the faithful.” What cause could be more reasonable than Trent saying so?

Council of Trent, Session XXII Canon 8. If anyone says that masses in which the priest alone communicates sacramentally are illicit and are therefore to be abrogated, let him be anathema.

@AndriiTolstoi The essence of the mass is the propiciatory sacrifice of Calvary. Also, all masses are good for the living and the dead, so we must offer masses for the souls in purgatory.

Council of Trent, Session XIII Canon 11. If anyone says that faith alone is a sufficient preparation for receiving the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist, let him be anathema. And lest so great a sacrament be received unworthily and hence unto death and condemnation, this holy council ordains and declares that sacramental confession, when a confessor can be had, must necessarily be made beforehand by those whose conscience is burdened with mortal sin, however contrite they may consider themselves. Moreover, if anyone shall presume to teach, preach or obstinately assert, or in public disputation defend the contrary, he shall be excommunicated.

@FreeIrishman7 Sadly and by following the heretical “theology of assembly” many people at the Novus Ordo say and teach that there shall be no masses if there’s no congregation, for they simplistically claim that the mass cannot be valid if ‘separated’ from the community / people of God.

There are many good conservative Catholics who want to distinguish between Vatican Two (good) and the Spirit of Vatican Two (bad). They can thus argue that the horrible modern Mass was foisted on the Church against the wishes of the Council. It's an attractive argument because it allows one to be a traditionalist without criticising the Council. But I'm afraid it 's a false argument. The reality is that the Council did mandate the New Mass, and its expressed preferences became irrelevant when it gave a blank cheque to set up the Consilium on whatever terms of reference the Pope saw fit. The Pope in turn handed another blank cheque to Mgr Bugnini, who was a charlatan but nonetheless had authority. To give an analogy: If my wife tells me she likes quiet mineral colours but I can redecorate the house in whatever I like, she is taking full responsibility for my subsequent choice of vermilion and dispeptic mint green.

Council of Trent, Session XXIII Canon 2. If anyone says that besides the priesthood there are not in the Catholic Church other orders, both major and minor, by which, as by certain steps, advance is made to the priesthood, let him be anathema.
