For the record, I agree. Pogba's best came when he wasn't in the pivot & had 2 mids behind him - Vidal + Pirlo at Juve, Kante + Rabiot/Matuidi at France, Herrera + Matic under Jose, Fred + Scott under Ole.
Where he wasn't expected to be positionally good & had freedom to drive.

@10IsRed I think that was more Oles reason coz he did utiloze Pogba long passing for counters really well and was trying to make him the first receiver. Jose didn't really do that coz Matic took care of deep play making duties.

@10IsRed He played some games as advanced 8 ahead of Herrera Matic. And combined we'll with Zlatan. Jose went back on that to fix him in pivot and start Jesse/Mkhi at 10. Lukaku also suffered as a result. Jose saw Pogba physique & thought he could convert him to a pivot CM. Mistake.

IMO his skin colour was a reason for his misprofiling & misuse. People kept attaching work rate & physicality tags to him that his actual profile never suggested. Jose esp. If he was treated as a creative attacking 8/LW (Isco, Coutinho, Iniesta mold) from start, could have worked

Disagree that it could never have worked with him. There were phases under Jose & Ole when he got that pivot behind where he was constantly getting assists & odd goals. Was never consistent & then injuries happened. But yes could have sold for decent fee to RMA proactively.
