@1thWorldProblem Nope, helicals have a much higher contact ratio. This is not to say spurs can't be made strongly, especially with modified tooth geometry & large pressure angles, but again, all else equal, a helical is stronger due to more teeth being in contact with one another at once.

All things equal, the helical will be smoother, quieter, and handle more power than a spur of the same size.
The spur imparts zero axial thrust & is more efficient though.
