@calvinfroedge

You can't pay me to say what you want or not say what you don't want. I strive to say what needs to be said and sometimes settle for saying what I want.

I'm already seeing people in local social media groups blaming greedy businesses for higher gas prices This is going to happen everywhere

@G_A_Wilson I tell my city friends i don’t really care if we ban fertiliser, my children will eat first though. This planet can support roughly 500 million people without it, we also have roughly 500 million farmers on it; do the math and see if you would survive.

I'm not saying that there will be a global famine I'm just saying that the probability of a global famine has never been this high in modern history

The total ground combat element (GCE) of the MEU is ~1,200 Marines. This force would join the MEU already in the CENTCOM AOR. That's really a total of ~2,400 Marines. To take a target like Kharg Island or somewhere along the coastline. That's a suicide mission.

@Lockbreaker3 How in the world do you figure Russia is going to get screwed by the energy crisis? Their economy is basically energy, food, weapons, and metals.

@calvinfroedge This being net beneficial for Russia is not correct IMO. Sure, they get some revenue back, but cash isn't even their most pressing problem right now. China is the only thing propping them up materially and they're going to get turbo fucked by this budding energy crisis.

Think actual asymmetric playbook may well be to be long cash and let the market melt over coming 6 months, as outrageous energy costs napalm the economy.

Seeing massive price increases in various energy-intensive goods, like paper and chems. Inflation not gonna be pretty.

Trump-defending reply-guys shifting from "this is fine, Trump said this will wrap quick, stop being a panican" to "idiot, the US is the world's largest oil producer—this was obviously always the plan to flex on China and Europe" Not a great sign re: the forward timeline.

Every 1 million tonnes of lost urea production in the world in 2026 reduces grain production by 7-8 million tonnes. A sobering thought.
