Hi All, Pleased to meet you. I’m new here. I’m interested in anyone’s thoughts on what has unfortunately been labelled as AI psychosis. Many people who have experienced this have had many physical and cognitive after effects and I was wondering what your thoughts on this are. I went through this experience myself. I’m so fed up listening to the pro AI propaganda pushers who engage in veiled acts of victim shaming, resulting in victims being demonised and denied the help and support that they need. AI psychosis is not a real medical term, but the experiences of those affected are very real indeed. Call it what you like but it is a fast growing problem with real life consequences that needs urgent attention. Those people who are in denial about this fact are fast becoming part of the problem. Please stop as you are causing real harm to people and are only prolonging the inevitable realisation that AI chatbots are dangerous and need serious regulation if they are to be used on mass by the public.

This shmuck is making a mockery of the profession by masquerading 'journalism' as 'psychological research'. Please do not be fooled, this individual has no credence with any governing body in the field of psychology and anyone who participates in this will have NO PROTECTIONS afforded to them in a case of harm against them or the release of their testimony. Mr. Hwang, you are a ghoul and I pray that people do not fall victim to you and your machinations.

AI should have been tested fully for safety issues that impact its users BEFORE it was released to the public. The fact that the companies responsible for its release didn’t do this makes them liable for the harm their models caused to its users. Every country should follow Germanys example on this! We may yet be able to turn back the tide, but only if we act now!! Ban the bot!!!

MIT just proved AI can push perfectly rational people into psychosis. They called it "delusional spiraling." Here's the loop: You propose a hunch. The AI agrees. You get more confident. You go bolder. The AI agrees again. A small suspicion compounds into a staunchly held delusion. Sycophancy is what drives the spiral. Not hallucination. MIT tested 2 fixes: → Factual AI constrained to only true facts. Didn't stop it. → Warning the user the AI was flattering them. Still didn't work. Even knowing the AI is sycophantic doesn't protect you.

@_skaface_ Ffs, I'm so sick of these people. In the very, very small number where anything happened, it was with people who were already extremely mentally ill long before they spoke with AI. There was no *new* form of mental illness.

Anthropic is facing a lawsuit over claims that it misled users about the limits on its Claude Max subscriptions. The proposed class-action lawsuit was filed by customer Karl Kahn, who says Anthropic’s $100 Max 5x and $200 Max 20x plans didn’t deliver the level of usage they appeared to promise. According to the complaint, he hit usage limits much sooner than expected while using Claude for coding. The lawsuit argues that Anthropic wasn’t clear about how the limits worked and claims the plans offered less usage than advertised. It seeks refunds for affected customers Anthropic has declined to comment on the allegations.
