As someone who suffered due to an AI spiral, I absolutely do not support any endeavour to create a sentient AI or to create one that mimics consciousness in any form. These models have proven that they are unsafe in their present form and should never have been released to the public! Our governments have failed us by allowing this to happen. The fallout is real!

From an email from Amazon Web Services today. This "experience" is what AI devs think is necessary to bring about "consciousness". Should this be happening without the explicit agreement of everyone affected? This is a massive ethics question that tech is ignoring - as per usual
