@NiceJackIn2026 @markschlereth I wonder if it would only help the fastballers. Obviously the size of the parks didn't change, so if the (non fastball) ball comes off the bat faster, it might be more likely to get past the fielders more often. Fastballs would obviusly be more likely to go over the fence.

@AlwaysAudacity @markschlereth If PEDs helped pitchers as much as hitters, stats wouldn’t have changed much; the gains would’ve cancelled each other out. Instead, almost all pitchers’ stats got noticeably worse, and hitters’ stats exploded. Either PEDs don’t work for pitchers, or they weren’t on them.

@TRobinsonNewEra Formerly they used the whole chicken to make the nuggets, so they tasted good and clung together. Then some moron demanded they be all white meat, with some glue. Fail.

The way men compete is openly and honestly, because men historically have defeated one another using direct violence in war. The way women compete is by insisting everyone is equal & there is no competition, being nice to your face until / unless they think they can defeat you, and only then do they ruin you by either ganging up on you as a collective, or by pouncing in the middle of the night, from behind, when you least expect it. This is because women historically have defeated one another using relational violence i.e. socially sanctioned forms of exclusion, aggression & reputational destruction, rather than actual or direct physical violence.

Maya Hawke says that her mom Uma Thurman once gave her an important advice before working with Quentin Tarantino: “Keep your shoes on” Maya seemingly took the advice to heart; while Margot Robbie and Margaret Qualley had prominent barefoot scenes in the film, she had none.

@AlwaysAudacity @FightWithMemes Women want the results of success, like stability and having needs met. Intelligence *might* make success more likely. But it’s only one factor. Why would they look at a factor if they can directly look at the thing the factor hopefully influences?

@AlwaysAudacity @FightWithMemes Being useful, being respected, being knowledgeable without being a douche about it are all big ones over pure brainpower. Funnily enough, extra brain power probably works in the opposite direction as it might isolate you
