Eating disorders are relatively common, yet underfunded by NIH and other federal agencies. Please consider donating to #eatingdisorders research at KU. Your donation can contribute to improved assessment and treatments for people in need of high-quality care! Please RT!

I'm briefly hoping on X to share some exciting news 🤩🥳🎉 I'm hiring a full-time clinical research coordinator (starting summer/fall 2024) to assist with research projects investigating the neurobiological and psychosocial mechanisms of eating disorders! vcu.csod.com/ux/ats/careers…

If you identify as Black, Afro-Caribbean, African American, and are pregnant or postpartum, you may be eligible for our research study! The study involves an online survey as well as an interview with a study team member about your experiences with eating and body image.

Incredibly important (and beautifully written) paper by @HaynosAF and @AmyHEgbert. #eatingdisorders are common, deadly, and certainly *not* ‘niche.’ This paper is a must read for anyone in a mental health field.

Happy to see this published! Led by @HaynosAF & @AmyHEgbert, we overview the public health harms of labeling eating disorders as a ‘niche’ topic. If you "don't study EDs," but you study other psych concerns, we urge you to consider that you probably do. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

☀️ Love this research & this group! Check out our most recent pub demonstrating that morning bright light may be particularly useful for reducing binge eating in folks high in dietary restraint & negative affect - a group with traditionally poor outcomes.

@bri_richson Exactly!! We talk about this phenomenon all the time and now we have some data to back it up 🎉 we consider some fun clinical implications in this in the paper too, such as tracking degrees of LOC in addition to occurrence of BE to index changes in severity in treatment.

🌟Very proud of this one! Our study (w/ twitterless Kyle De Young) is the first to clearly depict the phenomenon that the likelihood of experiencing higher loss of control increases across the day for women with BN and BED. Check it out (+ fun figures): doi.org/10.1002/erv.30…

Excited to see this spotlight hit the presses 🎉 Loved working on this one with Twitter-less Liz Dougherty, Jen Wildes, and Alissa Haedt-Matt! We propose applying a regulatory flexibility model in ED research on emotion regulation and coping strategy usage.
