@Frank3ic @Tom_Tom3003 Patient survived because he arrested in ICU. The same patient would have packed if he arrested in A&E or the wards because most of these locations don't have AED let alone the medication for ALS.

I agree with you about the auxiliary, but I don't agree when you say a MO calls himself a consultant, do you know why? Him or herself knows the gravity of that offense. Of course, I sometimes jokingly call some of My colleagues consultants or even professors especially when they solve a clinical problem with precised intelligence, but that is said within a limit, We know where We put a stop. Does the MO go about telling his patients he's a consultant or how does it happen?

Quackery in all forms should be discouraged. That being said, our Hippocratic colleagues are the architects and originators of quackery in the Nigerian healthcare field. I so much want to avoid this conversation, but I just couldn’t. Let’s say the truth and shame the devil. A MO calls himself a consultant, working beyond his scope of practice, performing different kinds of surgeries, and deceiving people. It doesn’t stop there. He trains male nurses to work as MOs while he works as a consultant. They train secondary school dropouts and tag them auxiliary nurses. They do this to cut corners and avoid paying the right professionals. The day these people stop abetting and promoting quackery is the day it will die a natural death. Until then, let’s keep shifting the blame.

Once it’s your guy, you switch up the principles. You people have ZERO concern against corruption or slums, zero consistency in what’s right or wrong.

@Nrs_Danie @univarxe UCH actually call it clerking. They clearly ain't the standard. But that what they call it. At their emergency, Doctors triage and accept or refer cases in the vehicles they present with while nurse do the initial clerking and vitals.

@univarxe 😂 bro leave all these long talk No nursing school will call it “clerking” Even as a registered nurse you don’t say “ok I’m going to clerk that patient” No nurse will ever say “I clerked the patient” even you that is typing it you’re a nurse. What are you saying?

My small take on this matter? Nurses can examine a patient head to toe, use a stethoscope to assess and literally do different types of body examinations, plus ECG. However, you don’t call it “clerking” that’s for a doctor to do, just like medical diagnosis is different from nursing diagnosis. Feel free to disagree with me 🤲🏻
