This guidance from Elder @HollandJeffreyR and Pres. @EyringHB is GOLDEN. The Bible Dictionary says that "Prayer is a form of work." Does it feel like work to you? Does it feel like effort? Does it feel like a wrestle? I've been feeling for a while now that my prayers have been too casual. I'm sure many others struggle with that, too. If your prayers sound like a checklist or like you're casually chatting with a buddy, you might try some of the counsel given by these two Prophets, Seers, and Revelators who know a thing or two about communicating with God.

Drove up to the temple to walk around the temple grounds earlier tonight. Shout out to @AndrewBragg5555 for his advice to go for walks. I haven’t been to the temple in a while and going for a walk around temple grounds made me realize how much I miss going to the temple. I haven’t renewed my recommend and have no excuse not to and I haven’t been to the temple since last summer. It’s been way too long. I’ve been feeling prompted recently that I need to start going back as soon as possible. Every time I think about going to renew my recommend, I keep feeling resistance from the adversary. The peace that I remember feeling from going makes me miss going to the temple and hope to return as soon as possible. When I think about where I’m at in life right now, I need to experience Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ’s love in the temple more than ever. I want to feel what President Thomas S. Monson described as “the spirit of the temple”again. Just walking on the grounds, I felt this peaceful feeling. Will y’all pray for me?

@ATrueMillennial An interesting note is that he prayed for strength from God so that he could burst the bands, but God just loosed the bands on His own. That's pretty neat.

Here's a fun Book of Mormon connection I'd never noticed before: Nephi prays for strength to burst his bands and they fall off like they're nothing, using much of the same language we see from Samson. And where was Samson when he burst his bands? A town named LEHI. Yet another very impressive literary device from what people tell me was the off-the-cuff imagination dictated by an uneducated farm boy. The more I study the Book of Mormon, the more ludicrous all the critics' theories become. This thing is WAY too well put together to be the work of Joseph Smith or Martin Harris or David Whitmer or any one man or group of men, even if they'd spent years on it. It was written by prophets of God under His inspiration over the course of a millennium, and it shows to anyone who seriously dives into the text.
