Before God created the world, the Father and Son established an eternal covenant of redemption. This means that the sacrificial death of the Lamb was not an afterthought but was a part of God’s perfect plan of redemption. If Jesus knew he was destined to die for humanity's sins, does that imply his sacrifice was an act of premeditated intention? If Jesus and his Father (co-equal) created everyone, what does it mean for Jesus role as a creator to also include the necessity of sacrificing himself for those creations? Is there a contradiction in creating beings that require saving?
