@BreckNM I think we attract the talent, we just can’t retain it long term. Some school from a Power 5 Conference will continue to take our players, coaches and even administrators simply because they can pay more….

First let me say that Fernando Lovo did an amazing job in his short tenure at UNM! I seem to remember him writing an excellent letter taking a bit of a back handed comment at Bronco Mendehall when he left for Utah State referring to his short tenure at UNM… a bit ironic now…

@MrBanks434 My son had the same experience last year. He did earn the PWO. But decided the school wasn't a fit at the time. It is incredibly hard for HS kids unless in the top % of their position class.

I had a D2 Football coach contact one of my players, and requested him to drive 3.5 hours to his university to conduct a private workout to "EARN" a PWO offer with a contingency to upgrade to an official, IF he looks good. Now I knew it was bad out here for high school recruiting, but today I realize it's d*mn impossible 🤦🏿‍♂️😢.

On October 25th 2023, I underwent a ACL reconstruction and a Meniscus menisectomy. Six months later I was finally given the greenlight to kick again in April. Here we are now in June of 2025, 15 months later and I wanted to share my story and progress to inspire other athletes.
