Only 15 US states ever allowed slavery. My ancestors never had slaves, never lived in a state that allowed slavery, but two of them suffered severe injury fighting for the Union during the Civil War. The idea that the entire white population of the US owe black people for slavery is nothing more than marxist BS to strengthen the left's political stance with the black community. If Black people believe they are owed reparations, AGAIN, than WeThePeople deserve reparations for all the Welfare and “free stuff” their population has been given over the same amount of time since the Civil War. Additionally … EVERY White person who lost an ancestor in the Civil War who fought for the Union, deserves reparations from the Black population. Then, the White people who had ancestors who immigrated here after the Civil War shouldn’t be used or forced to pay in that calculation. As well as the Black people who NEVER had a slave as an ancestor. So … by my calculations … the slate is wiped clean BECAUSE White People have been robbed! I finally learned to vote strictly party platforms. This has made my life so much easier. Republicans sometimes disappoint me, but the Democrat and, god forbid, DSA platforms horrify me.
