our take on the "paid promotion button"
mandatory paid disclosure is the most bullish thing to happen to the creator economy on X.
for too long, the creator space has operated in a grey area.
paid content looked like organic content.
sponsored takes looked like genuine conviction.
and for a while, that worked. Until it didn’t.
disclosure mandates fix that foundation.
organic content becomes more valuable because it’s now distinguishable.
paid content becomes more credible because it’s no longer undisclosed.
for agencies managing creators at scale, it’s a net positive effect for them and their stakeholders.
here’s why:
> audiences will now engage with commercial content consciously.
(Statistically, conscious engagement is worth more to every sponsor than manipulated attention ever was)
> In terms of creators, their audience's trust was always your most valuable asset. Disclosure is the first tool that makes it measurable.
> For sponsors, compliant campaigns reach audiences that are well-engaged without resentment.
> That’s higher conversion, lower legal exposure, and partnerships with creators whose accounts will not get suspended overnight.
@nikitabier helped make us the foundation for the creator economy, which it lacked for many years.

I messed up, i quit & i'd do it again.
I was put on replies for a huge brand that recently TGE'd.
Got briefed & read what i could about them (gotta know your client to be your client).
Made some replies and got feedback.
See, i was pretty happy with the replies i made.
So when i saw a mention in the TG chat, i thought it'll be praise.
But i got absolutely dunked on & reprimanded lol. Was a first to me
When i asked what was wrong, they told me i broke one key rule of theirs.
I could've come up with excuses, but i simply owned it up, apologized & didn't do it again.
Or so i thought.
What i didn't know:
The room for replies was much smaller than i thought.
I didn't realize just how tight their rules were.
So they brought it up again.
That's when i realized replies don't make any sense for this brand.
Too many eggshells (couldn't even reply to posts that mentioned them because that specific rule).
So i just ended it then & there after a few days. Not because i couldn't have managed replies.
But because the RR wasn't there for them.
They already had all eyes on them.
The eggshells would make replying total hell, for me & even more so for them. It just didn't make sense.
So i quit.
I left money on the table as it was in the brand's best interest.
They ended up having a successful TGE.
