Found a bug in @CanopyWave_CW 's serving layer for Kimi K2.5 tool calling using their Unlimited plan (@CanopyWave_AI ) which is heavily promoted for @openclaw usage. *** Please make this go viral so CanopyWave guys fix this *** *** Bug description: *** When running Kimi K2.5 through CanopyWave's OpenAI-compatible API with ~28K prompt tokens and 16 tools, the model correctly generates tool calls, finish_reason says "tool_calls" every time, but the structured tool_calls field comes back empty. Instead, raw internal markup like <|tool_calls_section_begin|> leaks into the content field as plain text. Sent the exact same 130KB payload 10 times. Same model, same endpoint, same auth token. 9 out of 10 returned leaked markup instead of structured tool_calls. 1 out of 10 parsed correctly. The model's behavior is identical in all cases, it's the response parser that nondeterministically fails. Confirmed it's not the model: direct API calls with the same tools and conversation but without the large system prompt work 100% of the time. The model itself handles 30 tools, parallel calls, multi-turn with reasoning_content round-tripping, all flawless. The failure only appears when total prompt tokens push past ~20K, and even then it's probabilistic, not a clean threshold. The evidence points squarely at the serving layer (likely vLLM's tool-call extraction) dropping the ball under long context. The model generates the right tokens. The API reports the right finish_reason. But the translation from raw generation to OpenAI-style structured output breaks.

@jcarlossoto @openclaw @NousResearch Managing 14+ agents sounds incredibly impressive. Mind sharing what kind of tasks they mainly handle?

I've always been a firm believer in @openclaw . And I still am. But, honestly, I spend 2-3 hours a day repairing it, and I've been using Hermes by @NousResearch since last Friday without it breaking down even once. So I'm going to gradually migrate my team to Hermes. Operational tasks need to run automatically, cron jobs too; I need more reliability to scale my business and projects. I think OpenClaw is still better in some integrations and other areas, and I plan to maintain some of my main agents under it for now, but running a 14+ agent squad under OpenClaw is becoming unsustainable. I need my time back and to increase my productivity. I need every hour I can have.
